3rd Grade Science Fair Projects
3rd grade science fair projects can be a lot of fun because at this age children are really interested in finding out how the world around them works. They’re very eager to answer the question “What happens if I do this…” That makes choosing a science fair project a very simple task. There are many options and they will likely come up with several ideas before they decide on just one topic.
I recommend these fun elementary science kits as a fast, simple way to get started on your science experiment.

Cut Flowers: Stronger in Cold or Warm Water?
Experiment: Do cut flowers last longer if you put them in cold water or warm water?
Category: Biology
Ages: Elementary School
Fun 3rd grade science projects can be to find out if cut flowers last longer if you put them in cold water or warm water. This is quite simple to do and the kids will think its fun to see the flowers change color. All you need to do is get two vases or pop bottles or anything you can put water and flowers into and fill one with cold water and one with warm water. Then add some food coloring, the same amount to each vase, then place one flower in each vase. The food coloring will help you see how effectively the flowers are drinking the water. You will then be able to see if the flower in the warm water is drinking the water slower, faster, or at the same pace that the flower in the cold water is drinking it.
