Third Grade Science Projects
Third grade science projects usually answer the question, “What happens if…” Students are exploring the world around them, and learning how things work so projects at this grade level can be a lot of fun and a great learning experience for the students.
I recommend these fun science projects kits as a fast, simple way to get started on your science experiment.
Experiment: Do cut flowers last longer if you put them in warm water or cold water?
Ages: Elementary
|
Materials Needed:
- 6 carnations
- 2 vases
- water
|
There are many projects suitable for third grade science projects, and a great one is to see if cut flowers last longer if you put them in a vase of warm water or cold water. You need very few materials for this project. All you need is about half a dozen carnations, two vases and some water, warm and cold. Then, you need to put three carnations into each vase and fill one with cold water and one with warm water then monitor the flowers in each vase to see which ones last longer. It is also a good idea to label each vase so you know which has the cold water and which has the warm water. Once finished, it is now a matter of seeing which flowers last the longest. Be sure to record your results.
